OIHALA BASQUE COUNTRY for BELETXARA // Illustration and design
An oihal is a generic Basque term (North of Spain) for cloth or rag, a piece of fabric with many possible uses, mostly related
to the household and the kitchen, and deeply connected to the rich and ancient gastronomic traditions in the Basque Country.
This table or kitchen cloth depicts the map of the Basque Country marking some of their typical products, buildings and traditions.
It was a commission for Beletxara, in relation to their investigation of the Basque folklore for their line of typical products and crafted souvenirs.
